Randy Burns (music Producer)
Randy Burns is an American music producer who has produced, mixed and engineered a number of punk and metal albums. His production work credits include albums by Megadeth, Dark Angel, Death, Kreator, Possessed, Nuclear Assault, Suicidal Tendencies and Excel. Personal life Burns was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Career After Burns co-produced '' Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?'' for Megadeth under contract with Combat Records, major label Capitol Records (who had acquired the album) was dissatisfied with the results and hired Paul Lani to remix it, delaying the release of the album by nearly a year. Punk Rock
Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. Rooted in 1950s rock and roll and 1960s garage rock, punk bands rejected the corporate nature of mainstream 1970s rock music. ''Coma of Souls'' is the fifth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released in 1990. It was reissued in 2002, with the lyrics for the last four songs missing from the booklet. ''Coma of Souls'' was Kreator's first release with lead guitarist Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (then-formerly of Sodom), and would be the last album before the band began experimenting with influences from other musical genres. It also would be the last record issued in the United States by Epic Records. Release ''Coma of Souls'' was also released in the United States as a limited edition in purple vinyl. ''Handle with Care'' is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released on October 3, 1989. This is the band's most successful and best-selling album to date, peaking at number 126 on the ''Billboard'' 200, making it their highest position so far. ''Extreme Aggression'' is the fourth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator released in 1989. While the band had already gained a sizeable following in the US due to their 1988 tour with the crossover thrash band D.R.I., this album introduced many American fans to Kreator, primarily through heavy rotation of the "Betrayer" music video on MTV's ''Headbangers Ball'', which was partly shot at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The beginning of the song "Love Us or Hate Us" was used in an early 1990s promo ad by the Los Angeles radio station KNAC. This was their first album issued in the US by Epic Records. The album was also available on picture disc vinyl. ''The Joke's on You'' is the second album by Excel, released in 1989. This album saw the band mix their crossover trash sound with influences coming from different genres, including punk, hip-hop, funk, doom metal and traditional thrash metal, and it is also driven by grooves, with '' Far Out'' calling the introduction to the track "Tapping into the Emotional Void" an early example of groove metal. ''Scream Bloody Gore'' is the debut studio album by American death metal band Death, released on May 25, 1987, by Combat Records. It is considered by many to be "the first true death metal record".
