Rana (genus)
''Rana'' (derived from Latin ''rana'', meaning 'frog') is a genus of frogs commonly known as the Holarctic true frogs, pond frogs or brown frogs. Members of this genus are found through much of Eurasia and western North America. Many other genera were formerly included here. These true frogs are usually largish species characterized by their slim waists and wrinkled skin; many have thin ridges running along their backs, but they generally lack "warts" as in typical toads. They are excellent jumpers due to their long, slender legs. The typical webbing found on their hind feet allows for easy movement through water. Coloration is mostly greens and browns above, with darker and yellowish spots. Behavior Many frogs in this genus breed in early spring, although subtropical and tropical species may breed throughout the year. Males of most of the species are known to call, but a few species are thought to be voiceless. Females lay eggs in rafts or large, globular clusters, and can pro ...

List Of AMD Phenom Microprocessors
A list is a set of discrete items of information collected and set forth in some format for utility, entertainment, or other purposes. A list may be memorialized in any number of ways, including existing only in the mind of the list-maker, but lists are frequently written down on paper, or maintained electronically. Lists are "most frequently a tool", and "one does not ''read'' but only ''uses'' a list: one looks up the relevant information in it, but usually does not need to deal with it as a whole".Lucie Doležalová,The Potential and Limitations of Studying Lists, in Lucie Doležalová, ed., ''The Charm of a List: From the Sumerians to Computerised Data Processing'' (2009). Purpose It has been observed that, with a few exceptions, "the scholarship on lists remains fragmented". David Wallechinsky, a co-author of '' The Book of Lists'', described the attraction of lists as being "because we live in an era of overstimulation, especially in terms of information, and lists help us ...

Pin (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling, a pin is a move where a wrestler holds an opponent's shoulders to the mat in an attempt to score a fall. A pinfall is a common victory condition, where the attacker pins an opponent and the referee makes a three count before the opponent gets released from the pin. Background The origin of the pinfall is the pin from amateur wrestling, whereby pinning an opponent to the mat will result in an automatic victory despite any points scored. However, while an amateur wrestling pin need be only one or two seconds, the count in professional wrestling is based on the referee's arm gestures, regardless of how much actual time elapses, and is to three slaps of the mat. The count is broken (a near-fall) if the opponent manages to raise one or both of their shoulders off the mat, commonly by ''kicking out'' (throwing their legs up to cause their shoulders to rise from the mat). In some positions, a wrestler may ''bridge'' (arching their back so that only their f ...

Rana Plaza
The Rana Plaza collapse (also referred to as the Savar building collapse) occurred on 24 April 2013, when the eight-story Rana Plaza commercial building collapsed due to a structural failure. The search for survivors lasted for 19 days and ended on 13 May 2013, with a confirmed death toll of 1,134. Approximately 2,500 injured people were rescued from the building. It is considered to be one of the deadliest structural failures in modern human history, as well as the deadliest garment-factory disaster in history, and is the deadliest industrial accident in the history of Bangladesh. Amnesty International called it "the most shocking recent example of business-related human rights abuse." The building housed five garment factories, a bank, and apartments. It was constructed in 2006 on the site of a former pond, and was built without proper permits. The fifth through eighth floors were added onto the building without supporting walls; the heavy equipment from the garment factor ...

Rana FM
Rana FM was a Pashto-language broadcast radio station operating from studios in an undisclosed location in Kingston, Ontario, feeding transmitters in Kandahar and Kabul, Afghanistan. History Launched on January 6, 2007 during the ongoing 2001 Afghan war, the military-run station hired Afghan-Canadians as its on-air voices, presenting Bollywood and modern Afghan music, news, sports and public affairs programming with a distinct pro-NATO, anti-Taliban slant. Content was targeted at a 15- to 25-year-old demographic and included no commercial advertising. The station was available as over-the-air FM radio in Afghanistan, via satellite (Eutelsat 70B, 70.5°E, 11210 MHz, horizontal, DVB-S, 6509 kilobits/second), and streamed online. Its signal was delivered to Afghanistan via satellite and fibre-optic links. As Canada's role in the Afghanistan War had largely ended by 2011, the station was no longer on the air. Filmmaker Ariel Nasr's full-length documentary describing Rana F ...
