Rampal Singh (Uttar Pradesh Politician)
Rampal Singh (1 September 1930 – 2019) was an Indian politician, belonging to Bhartiya Janata Party. In the 1991 election he was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha List of Members of the 10th Lok Sabha, (20 June 1991 – 10 May 1996) elected during 1991 Indian general election held during May–June 1991. The Lok Sabha (House of the People) is the lower house in the Parliament of India, four sitting membe ... from the Domariyaganj Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He was also member of 12th and 13th Lok Sabha from Domariyaganj. Singh was born on 1 September 1930 in the village of Sikta in the Siddarthnagar district. He was an engineer and agriculturist by profession. Singh was married to Smt Prabhawati Devi. He has one son, Prem Prakash Singh and resided in the Siddharthnagar district. Singh died in 2019. Bhartiya Janata Party
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP; ; ) is a political party in India, and one of the two major Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress. 1991 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India on 20 May, 12 June and 15 June 1991 to elect the members of the 10th Lok Sabha, although they were delayed until 19 February 1992 in Punjab. No party could muster a majority in the Lok Sabha, resulting in the Indian National Congress forming a minority government under new Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao with the support of other parties. Elections were not held in 2 seats in Bihar and 1 seat in Uttar Pradesh. Elections were not held for the six seats allocated to Jammu and Kashmir, nor for two seats in Bihar and one in Uttar Pradesh. Voter turnout was the lowest to date in an Indian general election.
