Pandita Ramabai
Pandita Ramabai Sarasvati (23 April 1858 – 5 April 1922) was an Indian Social Reformer. She was the first woman to be awarded the titles of ''Pandita'' as a Sanskrit scholar and ''Sarasvati'' after being examined by the faculty of the University of Calcutta. She was one of the ten women delegates of the Congress session of 1889.During her stay in England in early 1880s she converted to christianity.After that she toured extensively in the United states to collect funds for destitute Indian women.With the funds raised she started Sharada sadan for child widows. In the late 1890s, she founded Mukti Mission, a christian charity at Kedgaon village, forty miles east of the city of Pune. The mission was later named Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission. Ramabai Bhimrao Ambedkar (7 February 1898 – 27 May 1935) was the first wife of B. R. Ambedkar, who said her support was instrumental in helping him pursue his higher education and his true potential. ''Ramabai'' is a 2016 Indian biographical film in Kannada language, based on the life of Ramabai Ambedkar, the first wife of Indian social reformer and politician B. R. Ambedkar. The film is directed by M. Ranganath, and stars Yagna Shetty as the eponymous lead, and Siddaram Karnik as Ambedkar. Ramabai Peshwa
Ramabai (1750-1772), was the wife of Madhavrao Peshwa I. Her father's name was Shivaji Ballal Joshi from Solapur. Biography She had gone to Harihareshwar in 1772 when Madhavrao's health was very serious. She always kept fasts for Madhavrao. The couple had no children. She was very spiritual and religious. She never intervened in social or political matters. She was described as a great person and caring for all. Though her mother in law Gopika bai peshwa, however, reportedly did not treat her well. On 18 November 1772, Madhavrao died in the temple premises of Chintamani, Theur. Thousands of citizens visited the site and paid their last respects to their departed leader. After Madhavrao's death, Ramabai wished to perform sati. The peshwa family including Anandi Bai, Ragho Ba, and Narayan Rao tried to stop her but she didn't budge.
