Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency is one of the twenty-five List of constituencies of the Lok Sabha#Andhra Pradesh (25), lok sabha constituencies of Andhra Pradesh in India. 1962 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 19 and 25 February 1962 to elect members of the 3rd Lok Sabha, third Lok Sabha. Unlike the previous two elections, each constituency elected a single member. Jawaharlal Nehru won another landslide victory in his third and final election campaign. The Indian National Congress received 44.7% of the vote and won 361 of the 494 elected seats. Datla Satyanarayana Raju, better known as D. S. Raju M.B.B.S., L.R.C.P., M.R.C.S., M.R.C.P.(London) (born 28 August 1904, date of death unknown) was an Indian Parliamentarian. He was born to Datla Ramachandra Raju in Poduru, West Godavari District in 1904. He was educated at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Guy's Hospital, London and Chest Clinic, Vienna. He was a Permanent Commissioned Officer as a Major in the Indian Military from 1934 to 1945. 1957 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 24 February and 14 March 1957, the second elections to the Lok Sabha after independence. Elections to several state legislatures were held simultaneously. Under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Indian National Congress easily won a second term in power, taking 371 of the 494 seats. They gained an extra seven seats (the size of the Lok Sabha had been increased by five) and their vote share increased from 45% to 48%. The INC received nearly five times more votes than the Communist Party, the second largest party. Kaneti Mohan Rao
Kaneti Mohan Rao ( 13 June 2014) was an Indian politician, freedom activist and a former member of parliament who represented Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency in the 1st Lok Sabha. He was affiliated with Communist Party of India and contested India's first general election from his constituency. He was born in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. After Rao was declared winner, he celebrated his victory by moving across the city on his cycle. He also used to travel by cycle from parliament to his residence in New Delhi. When he was elected to first Lok Sabha at the age of 27, he was the youngest parliament member. He received INR1,400 pension under the oldest pension scheme until the then prime minister Manmohan Singh and president Pratibha Patil increase this to INR20,000 in 2009. Nalla Reddi Naidu BA, L.L.B. (13 January 1917 – July 1982) was an Indian lawyer and politician. He was a Member of Parliament representing Rajahmundry 1952 to 1957. Biography Nalla Reddi Naidu was born on 13 January 1917, in Edarada, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh in a Zamindari family. Rao Bahadur Sir Kurma Venkata Reddy Naidu, who was the Governor General of erstwhile Madras State, was his father's cousin. The former served as a motivation for Nalla Reddi Naidu to join politics and social service. The family lived in Nalla Street, Amalapuram.
