Raisat Cinema
Rai Movie is an Italian movie television channel, owned by state-owned television network RAI and broadcast on digital terrestrial television in Italy and on satellite platform Tivù Sat. The channel was launched in 2003 as ''RaiSat Cinema World'' and re-badged in 2006 as ''RaiSat Cinema''. On 30 June 2009, RaiSat Cinema was removed from Sky and was launched in the new free-to-view satellite platform Tivùsat. On 18 May 2010, it was renamed ''Rai Movie''. It broadcasts mostly Italian films, interviews, backstages and documentaries. Since 2003 it has been the official media partner of the Venice Film Festival and since 2007 of the Rome Film Festival. In April 2019, RAI announced that this channel, along with Rai Premium, would shut down to make place for a new channel called Rai 6, with a female target. 1080i
In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Each of these lines contributes to the overall detail and clarity of the image. The letter "i" stands for Interlaced video, interlaced. Rai Sport HD is an Italian sports TV channel, launched in 1999 by the state-owned RAI television network. It broadcasts Italian and international sports events in Italy on DTT channel 58 on ''Rai Mux A'' from HDTV. It is also available on Sky Italia. On 18 May 2010 a sister channel, Rai Sport 2 was launched. However, the channel closed on 5 February 2017. Rai Sport + HD launched on 14 September 2015, reviving the Rai Sport + brand that was used from 2009 to 2010. Tivùsat
tivùsat is a free-to-air/free-to-view digital satellite television platform, launched by the joint venture tivù s.r.l. between RAI, Mediaset and Telecom Italia Media, and serving Italy, Vatican City and San Marino. With the exception of international news services carried in English, services are provided in Italian. The service has been marketed since 31 July 2009 and offers a satellite alternative for many of those unable to receive the digital terrestrial television in Italy.
