Radium Hospital
Oslo University Hospital, Radiumhospitalet () is one of the four campuses of Oslo University Hospital in Oslo, Norway, and is dedicated to cancer treatment. This part of the hospital is the most specialized hospital in Norway for cancer therapy and research on cancer. The Norwegian Radium Hospital was an independent hospital from May 21, 1932, to 2005, when it merged with Rikshospitalet. The hospital was founded with Severin Andreas Heyerdahl as chief physician and director, and Hans L. C. Huitfeldt as chairman of the board. From 1983 to the merge with Rikshospitalet in 2005 Jan Vincents Johannessen was CEO. The Radium Hospital merged in 2005 with Rikshospitalet to create Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet HF. Cancer Therapy
Cancer treatments are a wide range of treatments available for the many different types of cancer, with each cancer type needing its own specific treatment. Treatments can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy including small-molecule drugs or monoclonal antibodies, and PARP inhibitors such as olaparib. Other therapies include hyperthermia, immunotherapy, photodynamic therapy, and stem-cell therapy. Severin Andreas Heyerdahl
Severin Andreas Heyerdahl (28 August 1870 – 26 June 1940) was a Norwegian physician, radiologist and hospital director. He was a pioneer in the use of radiology and radiation therapy in Norway. Biography He was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Severin Andreas Heyerdahl (1818-75) and Ragna Møller (1832-1926). He took his examen artium at Aars og Voss skole in 1888. He was hired as the manager of the x-ray department at Rikshospitalet in 1899. He took his dr.med. degree at the University of Oslo in 1910. Heyerdahl started with radium treatment at the Rikshospitalet in 1912. Together with Hans L. C. Huitfeldt, he co-founded the cancer treatment clinic ''Kristiania Radium-Institutt'' in 1913. From 1919 he was a senior doctor at the Rikshospitalet and a lecturer in radiology at the University of Oslo. Ullevaal Stadion () is an all-seater football stadium located in Oslo, Norway. It is the home ground of the Norway national football team, and the site of the Norwegian Cup Final. From its opening in 1926 to 2009 it was the home ground of FK Lyn and from 1999 to 2017 was a home ground of Vålerenga IF. With a capacity of approximately 28,000, it is the largest football stadium in Norway. The national stadium is fully owned by the Football Association of Norway (NFF).
