Radhanagar, Nadia
Nadia () is a Districts of India, district in the state of West Bengal, East India, India. It borders Bangladesh to the east, North 24 Parganas district, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly district, Hooghly districts to the south, Purba Bardhaman district, Purba Bardhaman to the west, and Murshidabad district, Murshidabad to the north. Nadia district is highly influential in the cultural history of Bengal. The standard version of Bengali language, Bengali, developed in the 19th century, is based off the dialect spoken around Nadia. Known as the "Oxford of Bengal", Nabadwip made many contributions to Indian philosophy, such as the Navya-Nyaya system of logic and is the birthplace of the Vaishnava saint Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The district is still largely agricultural. Etymology "Nadia" is a shortened form of Nabadwip, the name for a historic city in the district. Radhanagore
Radhanagore (also spelled Radhanagar) in the khanakul Town Arambagh subdivision of the Hooghly District of West Bengal, India. It is the birthplace of Raja Rammohun Roy. Located near Khanakul, it is approachable from Tarakeswar or Arambag. Mundeswari river flows nearby. The Raja's ancestral home and ruins of the house he built at the Langulpara cremation ground are still there. A college has been established in his name in the Town of khanakul. Kamarpukur, also in Hooghly District, birthplace of Sri Ramkrishna and Birsingha in Paschim Medinipur, birthplace of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar are near Radhanagore.
