Radar Records was a small independent New York City-based dance/garage label best known for Gary's Gang, Toney Lee, and various underground acts. History Foundation It was formed and operated by Eric Matthew (real name Joe Tucci) around 1982. Structure First record issued by Radar Records was possibly "Knock Me Out" by Gary's Gang, following by the post-disco number "Reach Up" by Toney Lee. Label creation was mentioned on the March 1983 issue of ''Billboard'' magazine. Joe Tucci
Joseph M. Tucci (born 1947 in Brooklyn, New York), more popularly known as Joe Tucci, is the former chairman of the board of directors, president and chief executive officer of EMC Corporation. Tucci was EMC's chairman since January 2006 and president and CEO since January 2001, one year after he joined the company as president and chief operating officer. As Dell have agreed and concluded the acquisition of EMC in 2016, Joe Tucci stepped down from leading EMC and the new formed Dell EMC entity. Before joining EMC, Tucci directed the financial and operational rebirth of Wang Laboratories during six years as its chairman and CEO. Tucci is also a member of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). Prelude Records
Prelude Records was a New York-based independent record label that was active from 1976 to 1986. At one time, François Kevorkian held an A&R position at Prelude. The label's owner was Marvin Schlachter. History Prelude was first launched in 1976, renamed from Pye International Records, a US division of UK-based Pye Records which had begun in 1974. The name was derived from the music group Prelude, which recorded for Pye at the time. At the outset, Prelude's LP and 45 catalogue numbers were the same as had begun under Pye (US), with the prefix changed from PYE- to PRL-. For a very short period at the start, Pye's then-parent, ATV Music, owned Prelude. It first made its small release with a large name called JUMBO, which spawned a minor hit with "Turn On To Love". Unidisc Music is a Canadian independent record label. The label is known for releasing rare music, that was made between the mid-1960s and late 1980s. Genres include rock, electronic, funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, reggae, Latin, disco and a cappella. Unidisc owns the 1982–1993 Sutra Records catalog, and the catalogs of other independent New York labels that the latter distributed. History Founder George Cucuzzella began his career as a nightclub DJ, in Montreal, in the 1970s. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.
