Rachael Lily Rosenbloom (And Don't You Ever Forget It)
''Rachael Lily Rosenbloom (And Don't You Ever Forget It)'' is a musical with a book by Paul Jabara and Tom Eyen, and music and lyrics by Jabara (with some songs having additional lyrics by David Debin and Paul Issa). The convoluted plot revolves around the misadventures of the title character (whose first name sports the extra "a" dropped by Barbra Streisand from her own) and her journey from a Brooklyn fish market to fame as a Hollywood gossip columnist, and then a career culminating in an Academy Award nomination and a nervous breakdown. The score is a mix of disco and more traditional Broadway show tunes. Jabara had written the show specifically for Bette Midler, who passed on the project. Eyen was brought in to overhaul the book and replace original director Ron Link, and Grover Dale was hired to assist Tony Stevens with the choreography. Paul Jabara
Paul Frederick Jabara (January 31, 1948 – September 29, 1992) was an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He wrote Donna Summer's Oscar-winning " Last Dance" from '' Thank God It's Friday'' (1978), as well as "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", Summer's international hit duet with Barbra Streisand. He also co-wrote the Weather Girls' iconic hit " It's Raining Men" with Paul Shaffer. Early life Jabara was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Lebanese family. He graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in 1965, and briefly attended Long Island University in Brooklyn. His sisters, Delores and Claudette, also graduated from that high school. Ken Mandelbaum is an American columnist, critic, and author whose primary field of expertise is musical theatre. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mandelbaum was introduced to Broadway musical theatre by his parents and grandparents at an early age. He initially pursued an acting career, studying with Stella Adler and performing at the Circle in the Square Theatre and the Provincetown Playhouse. In 1986, he began writing for ''Show Music'' magazine and the '' New York Native'', and the following year he joined the staff of '' TheaterWeek''. ''The Third Album'' is the third studio album by American actor, singer and songwriter Paul Jabara. The album includes the single releases "Disco Wedding" and "Never Lose Your Sense of Humor". ''The Third Album'', whose title and cover picture paraphrases the Barbra Streisand album of the same name, was released in 1979 on the Casablanca Records label, and again features guest vocalist Donna Summer. In 1979 Jabara also composed the Streisand & Summer duet "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)". The album tells the story of newlyweds Vinnie and DeeDee, from their wedding ("Disco Wedding") to their honeymoon ("Honeymoon in Puerto Rico"), their eventual divorce ("Disco Divorce") and finally, their reunion ("Just You and Me.") Ahmet Ertegun ( ; , ; July 31, 1923 – December 14, 2006) was a Turkish-American businessman, songwriter, record executive and philanthropist.
