R2bees
R2Bees is a Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife duo from Tema, comprising two cousins, Faisal Hakeem and Mugeez, Rashid Mugeez. They were nominated for the 2013 BET Awards. In March 2019, the duo released their third studio album, ''Site 15''. Career 2007–2012: ''Da Revolution I'' R2BEES's first single, "Yawa Gal", was released in August 2008. They then went on to release "I Dey Mad", which featured Unda melodies. The song topped most Ghanaian Radio Music Charts for weeks. In 2010, R2Bees released "Kiss Your Hand" as their third single. Mugeez
Rashid Abdul Mugeez, professionally known as Mugeez, is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter. Born in Tema, Bimbila (Accra, Northern region, Ghana), he became known through the influential Afrobeats, Afrobeat/Hiplife duo R2Bees (Refuse To Be Broke), which he formed with his cousin Faisal Hakeem (aka Omar Sterling) in 2007. The last album by R2Bees, Site 15, from 2019, made it into the top 10 on the Billboard Chart. He has also worked with Ed Sheeran on Boa Me. In April 2019, Mugeez founded his own record label, Extrial Music, to promote his solo projects as well as up-and-coming artists. Joseph Kwame Addison, popularly known as KillBeatz, is a Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer. He is a member of music group R2Bees, R2bees and is also the CEO oLegacy Life Entertainment which has signed the Ghanaian musician King Promise. Life and career KillBeatz started playing instruments for his Church (congregation), church before he ventured into secular music. He started as a rapper and later switched to music production. Michael Owusu Addo (born 10 July 1985), known professionally as Sarkodie (), is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema. He started rapping at a young age and has since become a household name in the Ghanaian and Global music industry. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, including TGMA then Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) for "Artiste of the Decade". 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards
The 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards took place on 31 August 2014, at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The eligibility period was from March 2013 to March 2014. In April 2014, the NEA reviewing committee began collecting submissions for the 2014 edition. The deadline for submission was April 30, 2014, and the nominations were announced on May 29, 2014. Tiwa Savage and Davido received the most nominations with 5 each. The Headies 2014 was the ninth edition of The Headies. It took place on 14 December 2014, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Themed "Feel the Passion", the show was hosted by Toke Makinwa and Basketmouth. It was initially scheduled to hold on 25 October 2014. Bovi was initially announced as one of the hosts, but ended up not hosting due to him being booked for another show. On 30 September 2014, nominations were announced during a press briefing at the HipTV office in Allen, Lagos. Kcee, Olamide and Phyno led the nominations with five each. The Headies 2013 was the 8th edition of The Headies. It was held on 26 December 2013, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos. The show was hosted by Tiwa Savage and Dr SID. Olamide was the biggest awardee of the night, winning three awards from seven nominations. Phyno won the Best Rap Single category for his song "Man of the Year". D'Tunes, Praiz, and Blackmagic all won for the first time. Sean Tizzle won the Next Rated category and was later awarded a Hyundai Tucson. Davido took home two awards, including Best R&B/Pop Album for ''Omo Baba Olowo''. Iyanya only received one award from five nominations. Highlife
Highlife is a Ghanaian music genre that originated along the coastal cities of present-day Ghana in the 19th century, during its Gold Coast (region), history as a colony of the British and through its trade routes in coastal areas. It encompasses multiple local fusions of African metre and western jazz melodies.
