R260 Highway (Russia)
The R260 ( in cyrillic scripts), previously M21 and A260 is a Russian federal highway. It runs from Volgograd, through Kamensk-Shakhtinsky to Luhansk, the Russian-occupied capital of Luhansk Oblast of Ukraine, where it continues as the M30 to Dnipro. Formerly as M21, it was part of the Soviet trunk road network and started from Chișinău via Dnipro to Volgograd. In 2010 the section in Russia received the number A260, but the M21 designation was used until the end of 2017, when the A260 designation became official. The entire route is part of E40 and AH70. Luhansk
Luhansk (, ; , ), also known as Lugansk (, ; , ), is a city in the Donbas in eastern Ukraine. As of 2022, the population was estimated to be making Luhansk the Cities in Ukraine, 12th-largest city in Ukraine. Luhansk served as the administrative center of Luhansk Oblast, before pro-Russian separatists seized control of the city in 2014 and made it the capital of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic. The Ukrainian administration was located in Sievierodonetsk from 2014 to 2022 during the War in Donbas (2014–2022), war in Donbas, due to Ukraine not being in control of Luhansk. Highway M30 (Ukraine)
M30 is a Ukrainian international highway ( M-highway) formed on 28 April 2021, with the merger of the M04 and the M12. The Stryi-Debaltseve section is part of the European route E50, the section from Debaltseve to the Russian border is part of European route E40 and the section from Oleksandriia to Kropyvnytskyi is part of European route E584. European Route E40
European route E40 is the longest European route, more than long, connecting Calais in France via Belgium, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan, with Ridder in Kazakhstan near the border with Russia and China. Russian Annexation Of Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk And Zaporizhzhia Oblasts
On 30 September 2022, Russia, amid an ongoing invasion of Ukraine, unilaterally declared its annexation of areas in and around four Ukrainian oblasts— Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia. Most of Luhansk Oblast and part of Donetsk Oblast had been controlled by pro-Russian separatists since 2014, while the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts were invaded by Russia in 2022.
