Suzhou is a major prefecture-level city in southern Jiangsu province, China. As part of the Yangtze Delta megalopolis, it is a major economic center and focal point of trade and commerce. Founded in 514 BC, Suzhou rapidly grew in size by the Eastern Han dynasty, mostly due to emigration from Northern and southern China, northern China. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. History The line was opened in two phases, with the long first phase from to () near Baodai Bridge started operations on December 28, 2013. This section consisted of of elevated track and of underground track. The second phase, running from to in the north, and from () to () in the east, commenced trial operations on September 24, 2016.
