Boeing 787 Dreamliner
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its unconventional Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, which focused largely on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 aircraft from All Nippon Airways (ANA), targeting a 2008 introduction. Fergus McMaster
Sir Fergus McMaster (3 May 1879 – 8 August 1950) was an Australian businessman and aviation pioneer. He was one of the three founders of the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited, the airline company that became commonly known by its acronym, Qantas. Early life McMaster was born in Morinish, a town near the city of Rockhampton, Queensland. As a young man, he assisted his brothers as a sheep grazier. He married Edith Scougall in 1911; she died in 1913. In January 1917 he enlisted in the First Australian Imperial Force and served as a gunner and dispatch rider in France during World War I. Business McMaster was named as chairman of Qantas at the company's establishment in 1920 and served in that capacity for all but three of the next 27 years until 1947, when Qantas was taken over by the Australian government. Paul McGinness
Paul Joseph McGinness, (14 February 1896 – 25 January 1952) was an Australian flying ace of the First World War, credited with seven aerial victories. He was a co-founder of Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services (Qantas). Early life McGinness was born on his family's property ''Riverview'' at Framlingham, Victoria, near Warrnambool, and attended St Patrick's College, Ballarat. World War I service McGinness enlisted in the 8th Light Horse Regiment on 17 September 1914 at the age of 18 and served throughout the Gallipoli and Sinai peninsular campaigns where McGinness was award the Distinguished Conduct Medal for "bravery and devotion to duty" on 22 April 1916. Hudson Fysh
Sir Wilmot Hudson Fysh (7 January 18956 April 1974) was an Australian aviator and businessman. A founder of the Australian airline company Qantas, Fysh was born in Launceston, Tasmania. Serving in the Battle of Gallipoli and Palestine Campaign as a lieutenant of the Australian Light Horse Brigade, Fysh later became an observer and gunner to Paul McGinness in the AFC. He was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross during the aftermath of the war for his services to aerial warfare. Fysh, alongside Paul McGinness and Sir Fergus McMaster started Qantas in 1920. Vanessa Hudson (born 1969 or 1970) is an Australian business executive and CEO of Qantas. She became Qantas CEO in September 2023, succeeding Alan Joyce after his abrupt resignation.
