Paul Carmichael
Paul Carmichael is an English bass guitarist and composer. Career In his early 20s, Carmichael joined the jazz-rock band Nucleus to play on tour in Germany. He has also toured with Soft Machine and Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia. In the 1980s he was in the house band for the children's TV show ''Play Away''. In 1979, he joined the guitarist Allan Holdsworth in the group I.O.U. and recorded the critically acclaimed album '' I.O.U.''. In 2011, he released the album ''Wax is Melting'' which features the Incognito vocalist Vanessa Haynes. Jazz Fusion
Jazz fusion (also known as jazz rock, jazz-rock fusion, or simply fusion) is a popular music genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined jazz harmony and improvisation with rock music, funk, and rhythm and blues. Electric guitars, amplifiers, and keyboards that were popular in rock began to be used by jazz musicians, particularly those who had grown up listening to rock and roll. Jazz fusion arrangements vary in complexity. Some employ groove-based vamps fixed to a single key or a single chord with a simple, repeated melody. Others use elaborate chord progressions, unconventional time signatures, or melodies with counter-melodies. These arrangements, whether simple or complex, typically include improvised sections that can vary in length, much like in other forms of jazz. Gary Husband (born 14 June 1960) is an English jazz and rock drummer, pianist, keyboard player and bandleader. He is also a composer, arranger, producer and educator. Husband was a member for 16 years of John McLaughlin's group The 4th Dimension. He has recently been working with Bill Evans All-Star Vans Band, Robben Ford Dragon Tales band, and his duet with guitarist Nguyên Lê. He has been a member of many of Billy Cobham's bands, worked alongside guitarist Allan Holdsworth for over three decades, the British pop/funk band Level 42, various lineups led by Jack Bruce and two lineups of guitarist Gary Moore’s groups.
