Pyrus Gergerana

	Pyrus Gergerana ''Pyrus gergerana'', known as the Gergeranian pear, is a species of tree in the family Rosaceae. It is a wild pear endemic to Armenia Armenia, officially the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked country in the Armenian Highlands of West Asia. It is a part of the Caucasus region and is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia (country), Georgia to the north and Azerbaijan to ..., found only near the village of Herher (Ger-Ger) in the southeastern part of the country. There are estimated to be a mere 50 trees left in the wild, yet, as of 2014, there have been no conservation measures in place to protect the species.
