Pyhrn Railway Line
The Pyhrn railway line () is a railway line in Upper Austria. It runs from Linz Hauptbahnhof, where it connects with the Western railway line, to Selzthal, where it connects with the Enns Valley Railway and Rudolf Railway. The line takes its name from the Pyhrn Pass through which it runs. Route The northern end of the Pyhrn railway line is at Linz Hauptbahnhof, where it runs parallel with the Western railway line (). The Pyhrn railway line turns south, following first the Krems, then the Steyr, and finally the river to Selzthal. At the Pyhrn Pass at the southern end of the line, the Bosruck tunnel passes underneath the mountain. In Selzthal, the line connects with the Enns Valley Railway and Rudolf Railway. Operation The of the Upper Austria S-Bahn runs hourly between Linz Hauptbahnhof and Kirchdorf an der Krems, making all local stops. Linz Hauptbahnhof or Linz Central Station is a railway station in Linz, the third largest city in Austria, and capital city of the States of Austria, federal state of Upper Austria. Opened in 1858, the station is the centrepiece of the Linz transport hub. It forms part of the Western Railway (Austria), Western Railway, and is also a terminus of the Pyhrn Railway, the Summerauer Railway, and the Linzer Lokalbahn (LILO). Graz Hauptbahnhof, abbreviated Graz Hbf ( German for Graz Main Station; sometimes translated as Graz Central Station.), is the main railway station in Graz, the capital of the Austrian federal state Styria. In Germany, Luxembourg and Austria, the Regional-Express (; RE, or in Austria: REX) is a type of regional train. It is similar to a semi-fast train, with a top speed of and an average speed of about as it calls at fewer stations than ''Regionalbahn'' (in Austria: '' Regionalzug'') or S-Bahn trains, but stops more often than ''Intercity'' or ''Intercity Express'' services.
