''Pursuit'' is a 1935 American action film directed by Edwin L. Marin and written by Wells Root. The film stars Chester Morris, Sally Eilers, Scotty Beckett, Henry Travers, C. Henry Gordon and Dorothy Peterson. The film was released on August 9, 1935, by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Plot Pilot Mitch Mitchell (Chester Morris) is asked to whisk a young child, Donny (Scotty Beckett), from California into Mexico by the youth's mother, who is involved in a nasty custody dispute with her sister. Mitch agrees to take on the job, but he must also take along Maxine (Sally Eilers), who works for an agency hired to bring the child back. She's agreed to help the boy escape, but the three must still avoid detection. Things come crashing to a head in Mexico. Plot On her way to work the morning after her marriage to Christian pre-med student Willem, Abby Zengler steps in front of a bus and is severely injured. ''Pursuit '' is a one-hour American television anthology drama series which aired live on CBS from October 22, 1958, to January 14, 1959. Overview As the program's title implies, each episode focused on a person or group that was being pursued. Plans for the program were under way in December 1957, with Charles Russell moving from New York to the West Coast of the United States to produce the show. Writers engaged in the project were Charles Larsen, Jonathan Latimer, Don Sanford, Robert Soderberg, and Hagar Wilde. The program's pilot, "The Lady Died at Midnight" starred Earl Holliman and was broadcast on February 23, 1958. The series revolved around Brick McKenna ( Eric Close), who returned to Oregon to take over his brother's business, McKenna Outfitters, after his death.
