''Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai'' () is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language political action thriller film directed by S. P. Jananathan. The film stars Arya, Shaam, Vijay Sethupathi and Karthika, in her last acting credit. It revolves around a communist who is sentenced to death, while his comrade seeks his release. ''Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai'' was produced by Jananathan under Binary Pictures, in association with UTV Motion Pictures. The film was initially announced untitled in 2012, but got stalled and re-announced in 2013 under the title ''Purampokku''. Principal photography began in January 2014 and wrapped that December. Three months after filming ended, it was retitled. The film features cinematography by N. K. Ekambaram and a score by Srikanth Deva, while the soundtrack was composed by newcomer Varshan. Krishnamoorthy (1963/1964 – 7 October 2019) was a comedian in the Tamil film industry in India. Career Krishnamoorthy moved from his home town Tiruvannamalai to Madras (now Chennai) in 1983, hoping to become an actor in films.
