	Dothideomycetes Genera Dothideomycetes is the largest and most diverse class (biology), class of ascomycete fungus, fungi. It comprises 11 order (biology), orders 90 family (biology), families, 1,300 genera and over 19,000 known species. Wijayawardene et al. in 2020 added more orders to the class. Traditionally, most of its members were included in the loculoascomycetes, which is not part of the currently accepted classification. The lichen appears as a greenish discolouration on the trunks of ''Macaranga'' trees. Taxonomy The lichen was formally described as a new species in 1998 by Dutch lichenologist André Aptroot.
