Proximus Mobility
Proximus Mobility, LLC is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that has developed a proximity marketing service for retailers, malls and venues to deliver content to mobile devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi within 200–900 feet of the point of purchase. Early history Proximus Mobility was founded in Naples, Florida in 2009 by Michael Zeto and David Rippetoe. After presenting at the Florida Venture Forum in September 2010, Proximus Mobility received the Newcomer of the Year Award from the Naples Economic Development Council. Citing a lack of incentives for tech companies from the Florida government, Michael Zeto began searching for office space in Boston and Atlanta. At that point in time, Proximus Mobility was closing on a $2 million round of venture capitalist funding. Software as a service (SaaS ) is a cloud computing service model where the provider offers use of application software to a client and manages all needed physical and software resources. SaaS is usually accessed via a web application. Unlike other software delivery models, it separates "the possession and ownership of software from its use". SaaS use began around 2000, and by 2023 was the main form of software application deployment. Unlike most self-hosted software products, only one version of the software exists and only one operating system and configuration is supported.
