Provinces Of Fiji
The Provinces of Fiji (''"veiyasana" ''(pl.) and ''"yasana"'' (s.) in the Fijian language), and ''"प्रदेश''" in the Fiji Hindi language are the 14 administrative units into which the country is divided, particularly in relation to the provision of resources and services to the indigenous Fijian population by the Fijian Affairs Board. They are more or less derived from the major clan affiliations for each provincial region. Structure The most basic administrative unit in modern Fijian communities is the ''koro'' (village). Each village is led by a village headman called the '' turaga-ni-koro'', who is elected by the other villagers. A subunit of the ''yasana'' is the '' tikina'', which is composed of several koros. Kadavu Province
Kadavu Province () is one of fourteen provinces of Fiji, and forms part of the Eastern Division, which also includes the provinces of Lau, Lomaiviti and Rotuma. Kadavu also belongs to the Burebasaga Confederacy, a hierarchy of chiefs from southern and western Fiji with Roko Tui Dreketi of Rewa as the paramount chief. It consists of Kadavu Island, Ono Island, Galoa Island, Dravuni Island, Matanuku Island, Buliya Island, Nagigia Island, and a few other islands. Kadavu has a total land area of 408 square kilometers, with a population of 10,897 at the most recent census in 2017, making it the fourth least populous province. Ra Province
Ra is one of the fourteen provinces of Fiji. Occupying the northern area of Viti Levu, the largest island, it is one of eight Viti Levu-based Provinces. With a land area of 1,341 square kilometers, it had a population of 30,432 in 2017 census. The main urban centre is at Vaileka, with a population of 3,361 in 1996. Naitasiri Province
Naitasiri is one of the 14 provinces of Fiji and one of eight located on Viti Levu, Fiji's largest island. It is located in Central Division. Geography and infrastructure Naitasiri covers an area of , and occupies the area mostly to the north of Suva, the capital. Its boundaries stretch across Viti Levu in a southeast to northwest direction from Laucala Bay on the Suva Peninsula to beneath Mt Tomanivi, Fiji's highest mountain on the Nadrau Plateau (''"Mai na toba ko Laucala ki na ruku i Tomanivi"'' in Fijian). Wiliame Katonivere
''Ratu'' Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, CF (; born 20 April 1964) is a Fijian chief and politician.He served as the President of Fiji from 2021 to 2024. He has been chief of Macuata Province since 2013, succeeding his older brother Aisea Katonivere; he was previously involved in conservation initiatives of Fiji's Great Sea Reef. Katonivere has been the chairman of the Pine Group of Companies from 2020 to 2021, which includes Fiji Pine Limited, Tropik Wood Industries Limited and Tropik Wood Products Limited. Macuata Province
Macuata () is one of Fiji's fourteen Provinces, and one of three based principally on the northern island of Vanua Levu, occupying the north-eastern 40 percent of the island. It has a land area of 2004 square kilometers.
