Provinces Of Cambodia
Cambodia is divided into 25 provinces (, ). The capital Phnom Penh is not a province but an "autonomous municipality" (, ; lit. 'capital'), equivalent to a province governmentally and administered at the same level as the other 24 provinces. Phnom Penh has both the highest population and the highest population density of all provinces, but is the second smallest in land area. The largest province by area is Mondulkiri and the smallest is Kep which is also the least populated province. Mondulkiri has the lowest population density. Each province is administered by a governor, who is nominated by the Ministry of Interior, subject to approval by the Prime Minister. Provinces are divided into districts (, ''srŏk''). Unitary State
A unitary state is a (Sovereign state, sovereign) State (polity), state governed as a single entity in which the central government is the supreme authority. The central government may create or abolish administrative divisions (sub-national or sub-state units). Such units exercise only the powers that the central government chooses to delegate. Kampong Speu Province
Kampong Speu (, ; ) is a province of Cambodia. It borders the provinces of Pursat and Kampong Chhnang to the north, Kandal to the east, Takéo to the southeast, Kampot to the south and Koh Kong to the west. Its capital is the town of Chbar Mon. Etymology ''Kampong Speu'' in Khmer means "starfruit port" or "starfruit harbor". In Khmer, ''kampong'' is a place-name element, meaning "port" or "harbor". It derives from the Austronesian language, Malay, in which it means "village". ''Speu'' in the Khmer language means "starfruit". Kampong Chhnang Municipality
Kampong Chhnang municipality () is a municipality in the centre of Kampong Chhnang province in central Cambodia. This is classed as an urban district and the provincial capital Kampong Chhnang City lies within the municipality. The district is quite small and encompasses the provincial town and nearby communes. Kampong Chhnang is the smallest district in Kampong Chhnang province and is surrounded by other Kampong Chhnang districts. The Tonle Sap river lies on the north and eastern borders of the district. Kampong Cham Municipality
Kampong Cham municipality () is a municipality (''krong'') of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Kampong Cham is considered an urban district. The provincial capital Kampong Cham City is located in this district. The city is located on National Highway 7 124 kilometres by road from the capital Phnom Penh. The district is split by the Mekong and the capital is located on the western bank of the river., since 2001, the Kizuna bridge provides a good junction for the region.
