Protocol Of Stockholm
The Protocol of Stockholm (also called Battle of Stockholm) was an agreement between the International Amateur Handball Federation (IAHF) and Fédération Internationale de Basketball (then FIBB, now FIBA), made in 1934 to transfer the oversight of basketball from the IAHF to the FIBB. Background Basketball was a demonstration sport at the 1904 Summer Olympics. Korfball, a similar sport, was also a demonstration sport at the 1920 and 1928 Summer Olympics. In 1926 a commission was founded at the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF, now World Athletics) which was responsible for all ball games which were played by hand, including basketball and handball. Representatives from 11 countries founded the International Amateur Handball Federation (IAHF) on 4 August 1928 in Amsterdam. International Amateur Handball Federation
The International Amateur Handball Federation (IAHF) was the administrative and controlling body for handball and field handball. IAHF was responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the World Men's Outdoor Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938. Tadeusz Kuchar (13 April 1891, in Kraków – 5 April 1966, in Warsaw) was a Polish athlete, footballer, swimmer, ice-skater, skier, sports official. Born into a sporting family, he was the brother of Wacław Kuchar. For most of his life he was strongly connected with the team of Pogoń Lwów, where he played midfield. He was co-founder of the Polish Olympic Committee. Occasionally, in the years 1923, 1925 and 1928 he held the post of coach of the Poland national football team, Poland national team. Avery Brundage
Avery Brundage (; September 28, 1887 – May 8, 1975) was the fifth president of the International Olympic Committee, serving from 1952 to 1972, the only American and first non-European to attain that position. Brundage is remembered as a zealous advocate of amateurism and for his involvement with the 1936 and 1972 Summer Olympics, both held in Germany. Brundage was born in Detroit in 1887 to a working-class family. When he was five years old, his father moved his family to Chicago and subsequently abandoned his wife and children. Raised mostly by relatives, Brundage attended the University of Illinois to study engineering and became a track star. Field handball at the 1936 Summer Olympics was the first appearance of the sport at the Olympics. It was contested by six teams. Games were played outdoors with 11 players on each side. The six teams were split into two groups of three. Each team played each other within each group. Karl Ritter von Halt, born Karl Ferdinand Halt (2 June 1891 Р5 August 1964) was a sport official in Nazi Germany and the German Federal Republic. He was born and died in Munich. Biography Karl Ritter von Halt was a track and field athlete who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. He finished 22nd in the javelin throw competition and 14th in the shot put event.
