Protecting Victoria's Vulnerable Children Inquiry
The Protecting Victoria's Vulnerable Children Inquiry was an inquiry ordered by the Australian Government of Victoria in 2011. The inquiry was conducted by a panel of three members and was asked to “investigate systemic problems in Victoria’s child protection system and make recommendations to strengthen and improve the protection and support of vulnerable young Victorians.” The Panel comprised the Honourable Philip Cummins y, Professor Emeritus Dorothy Scott , and Mr Bill Scales . Philip Cummins
Philip Damien Cummins (9 November 1939 – 24 February 2019) was an Australian lawyer and judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Cummins was the presiding judge in the trials of the Silk–Miller police murders, the death of Daniel Valerio and the trial of Robert Farquharson. He chaired the Protecting Victoria’s Vulnerable Children Inquiry in 2011 before being appointed chairperson of the Victorian Law Reform Commission. Mary Wooldridge
Mary Louise Newling Wooldridge (born 29 July 1967) is a former Australian politician. She was a Liberal Party member of the Parliament of Victoria from 2006 to 2019. She was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, representing the seat of Doncaster from 2006 to 2014; her seat was abolished in a redistribution for that year's election, and she was subsequently elected to the Victorian Legislative Council for Eastern Metropolitan Region in November's state election.
