Procurator-General Of The Supreme People's Procuratorate
The procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate is the head of the Supreme People's Procuratorate and is the highest-ranking prosecutor in China. Under the current constitution, the procurator-general is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the National People's Congress (NPC), the legislature. The incumbent procurator-general is Ying Yong, who took office on 11 March 2023. History The Supreme People's Procuratorate of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China (1949–1954), Central People's Government was established on 1 October 1949. Luo Ronghuan served as the first procurator-general by the first plenary session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. On 27 September 1954, the SPP of the Central People's Government was replaced with the SPP of the People's Republic of China. Presidium Of The National People's Congress
The Presidium of the National People's Congress is the presiding body of the National People's Congress when it is in session. Composition It is composed of 178 senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the state, non-Communist parties and All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, those without party affiliation, heads of central government agencies and people's organizations, leading members of all the 35 delegations to the National People's Congress (NPC) session including those from Hong Kong, Macao, and the People's Liberation Army. The presidium is elected during a meeting preceding the sitting of a new session of the NPC, which is presided over by the outgoing Standing Committee of the NPC. The 1st National People's Congress (NPC) was in session from 1954 to 1959. It held four sessions in this period. There were 1,226 deputies to the Congress. These were the first legislative elections to take place after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The 9th National People's Congress (NPC) was in session from 1998 to 2003 across five plenary sessions. It followed the final session of the 8th National People's Congress. There were 2,979 deputies to this Congress. Background This was the first congress in which deputies were elected representing the Hong Kong SAR and the new directly administered city of Chongqing. Han Zhubin (; born February 1932) is a Chinese retired politician who was the procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from March 1998 to March 2003, and the president of China Law Society from November 2003 to November 2013. Biography A native to Harbin, Heilongjiang, Han Zhubin joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1950. Han worked in the railway system since 1946. He was the Minister of Railways from 1992 to 1998, and the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from 1998 to 2003. Han served as a Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and as a member of the 15th CCDI Standing Committee in the period 1997–2002. Zhang Siqing
Zhang Siqing (; August 1932 – 17 June 2022) was a Chinese politician and magistrate. Biography Zhang was born in Luoyang, Henan, China, in 1932. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1952. He was the President of Hubei High People's Court and Head of Hubei Public Security Bureau, and the Secretary of the Zhengfa Committee of the CCP Hubei Committee from 1983 to 1985. Zhang entered the Supreme People's Procuratorate in 1985 and became an associate procurator. He was elected by the National People's Congress as the procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from 1993 to 1998. He died from an illness in Beijing on 17 June 2022, at the age of 89. The 4th National People's Congress (NPC) was in session from 1975 to 1978. It held only one session, in January 1975, despite the Constitution mandating a session be held each year. Yang Yichen (; March 31, 1914 – June 28, 1997) was a politician of the People's Republic of China. Biography Yang Yichen was born in Faku County, Liaoning in 1914. After the Cultural Revolution, Yang was the Secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Committee. He was the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate from 1983 to 1988.
