''Prockia jaliscana'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Salicaceae. The plant is endemic to Mexico in the states of Colima, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit and Oaxaca. It grows in low deciduous forests primarily within the seasonally dry tropical biome. ''Prockia jaliscana'' was first described by Jaime Jiménez Ramírez and Ramiro Cruz Durán in 2018. It consists of approximately six species of shrubs and small trees native to the West Indies, Mexico, Central America, and South America. Its type species, ''Prockia crucis'', is highly polymorphic and has a broad distribution, from Mexico and the West Indies to Uruguay and northern Argentina. Dioecy ( ; ; adj. dioecious, ) is a characteristic of certain species that have distinct unisexual individuals, each producing either male or female gametes, either directly (in animals) or indirectly (in seed plants).
