The ProA Young Player of the Year Award is an award that is handed out to the best young player (under-22) of a given ProA season. The ProA is the second highest basketball division of Germany. ProA
The ProA is the German basketball league system, second-tier Sports league, league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 16 teams. Officially the ProA is part of the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the top two teams qualify for the Basketball Bundesliga, and the teams positioned 15th and 16th are Promotion and relegation, relegated to the lower league, ProB. Basketball Most Valuable Player Awards
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court), while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Hamburg Towers, for sponsorship reasons named Veolia Towers Hamburg, is a professional basketball team, based in Hamburg, Germany. After promotion from the ProA in 2019, the Towers are currently playing in the Basketball Bundesliga, the top tier of German basketball. Founded in 2013, the club played in the ProA from the 2014–15 season. In 2019, Hamburg promoted to the BBL for the first time. Since 2014, their home arena is the Inselpark Arena in Wilhelmsburg. The 2018–19 ProA was the 12th season of the ProA, the second level of basketball in Germany. The champions and the runners-up of the play-offs were promoted to the 2019–20 Basketball Bundesliga. Hamburg Towers won its first ProA championship after defeating Nürnberg Falcons, which promoted too, in the finals. Niners Chemnitz e.V., also named Chemnitz 99, is a German basketball club based in Chemnitz, Saxony. Currently, the team plays in the Basketball Bundesliga. The 2016–17 ProA was the 10th season of the ProA, the second level of basketball in Germany. The champions the runners-up of the play-offs are promoted to the 2017–18 Basketball Bundesliga.
