Primrose and West, also known as Primrose and West's Minstrels, was an American blackface minstrel song-and-dance troupe made up of partners George H. Primrose, George Primrose and William H. West (entertainer), William H. "Billy" West. They later went into the business of minstrel show, minstrel troupe ownership with a refined, high-class approach that signaled the final stage in the development of minstrelsy as a distinct form of entertainment. Vice Admiral George Anson Primrose RN (1849–1930) was a senior British naval officer. Life He was born at 22 Moray PlaceEdinburgh Post Office directory 1849 in Edinburgh on 21 September 1849, the son of the Hon Bouverie Francis Primrose and his wife Frederica Sophia Anson, daughter of Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson. Laird of Burnbrae was a hereditary title in Scotland that was held by several generations in the Clan Primrose, Primrose family.
