Prime Directive (role-playing Game)
''Prime Directive'' is a role-playing game set in the ''Star Trek''-derived Star Fleet Universe. The game has gone through two different incarnations. ''Prime Directive'' RPG The original release of ''Prime Directive'' was published by Task Force Games in 1993. Using an in-house design by Mark Costello and Timothy D. Olsen, it used a D6-style system similar to '' Shadowrun'' and ''Star Wars''. Aspects of the game include a multi-tiered task resolution system, where characters can achieve 'Complete', 'Moderate', 'Minimal', 'Failure' or 'Botch' levels of success with their actions, and the Character Reputation and Background system that allows characters to “spontaneously” develop skills, abilities, and prior associations appropriate to the mission at hand. ''Valkyrie'' is a UK role-playing magazine that was published between 1994 and 2003. Publication history The magazine was started in 1994. Angus Abranson was one of the people involved in the creation of ''Valkyrie'', and continued to report news for the magazine while he was working at Leisure Games. It was published by Partisan Press and edited originally by David "Stig" Renton (original editor of ''Role Player Independent'') and then taken over by Jay Forster. ''White Wolf'' is a game magazine that was published by White Wolf Publishing from 1986 to 1995. History While still in high school, Stewart Wieck and Steve Wieck decided to self-publish their own magazine, and Steve chose the name "White Wolf" after Elric of Melniboné. ''White Wolf'' #1 was published by their White Wolf Publishing in August 1986 and distributors began to order the magazine a few issues later as its print runs continued to increase.
