President Of Iraq
The President of the Republic of Iraq is the head of state of Iraq. Since the mid-2000s, the presidency is primarily a symbolic office, as the position does not possess significant power within the country according to the Constitution of Iraq, constitution adopted in October 2005. Due to the ''Muhasasah'' political system informally adopted since the creation of the new Iraqi federal state, the office is expected to be held by a Iraqi Kurds, Kurd (all were from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, PUK party). Although, it is not an official legal requirement. On the 2022 Iraqi presidential election held on 13 October 2022, the Iraqi parliament voted Abdul Latif Rashid as the new president of Iraq. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK; ) is a political party active in Kurdistan Region and the Disputed territories of Northern Iraq, disputed territories in Iraq. Presidency Council Of Iraq
The Presidency Council of Iraq was an entity that operated under the auspices of the "transitional provisions" of the Constitution of Iraq and previously under the Transitional Administrative Law. In representative democracies, a mandate is a perceived legitimacy to rule through popular support. Mandates are conveyed through elections, in which voters choose political parties and candidates based on their own policy preferences. The election results are then interpreted to determine which policies are popularly supported. 2022 Iraqi Presidential Election
The Iraqi presidential election of 2022 was held on 13 October 2022 to elect by indirect suffrage the President of Iraq for a four-year term. The position is largely ceremonial, with Iraq being a parliamentary system. Outgoing President Barham Salih was eligible for re-election, but was beaten in the second round by Abdul Latif Rashid.
