Prayagraj district, formerly known as Allahabad district, is the most populous Districts of Uttar Pradesh, district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Prayagraj Division
Prayagraj division, formerly known as Allahabad division, is one of the 18 administrative geographical units (i.e. division) of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, with the city of Prayagraj being the administrative divisional headquarters. In 2000, when Uttar Pradesh was reorganised by forming Uttaranchal out of its northern areas, Allahabad division and the district was majorly reorganised too. The Etawah, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat districts of the Allahabad division were made into a separate Kanpur division. Parts of the western areas of Allahabad district were carved out to create a new district named Kaushambi. New Yamuna Bridge, Allahabad
The New Yamuna Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge located in Prayagraj. The bridge was constructed by the end of 2004 with the aim of minimizing the traffic over the Old Naini Bridge. The bridge runs north–south across the Yamuna River connecting the city of Prayagraj to its neighborhood of Naini. The construction was consulted by COWI A/S, a Danish consulting company. Main construction was done by Hyundai and was successfully completed in 2004. All Saints Cathedral, Allahabad
All Saints' Cathedral, also known as Patthar Girja (Church of Stones), is a United Protestant cathedral located in Prayagraj, India; it belongs to the Church of North India. Modelled after 13th-century Gothic style churches, it is among the Gothic Revival buildings built by the British during their rule in India. British architect Sir William Emerson, who also designed the Victoria Memorial, Kolkata, designed the cathedral in 1871. It was consecrated in 1887 and was completed four years later. The church celebrates its anniversary on All Saints' Day (1 November) and has been part of the Church of North India since 1970. Chandra Shekhar Azad Park (also known by its former name Alfred Park, and Company Bagh during the Company Raj) is a public park in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. Thornhill Mayne Memorial
Allahabad Public Library, also known as Thornhill Mayne Memorial, is a public library situated at Chandrashekhar Azad Park in Prayagraj, India. History Established in 1864, it is the biggest library in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The building was designed by Richard Roskell Bayne and is considered a remarkable example of Scottish Baronial Revival architecture. The monument served as the house of legislative assembly in the British Raj when Allahabad was the capital of the United Provinces. Anand Bhavan
The Anand Bhavan is a historic house museum in Prayagraj, India, focusing on the Nehru family. It was bought by Indian political leader Motilal Nehru in the 1930s to serve as the residence of the Nehru family when the original mansion Swaraj Bhavan (previously called Anand Bhavan) was transformed into the local headquarters of the Indian National Congress. Jawahar Planetarium is situated here, which has been striving to inculcate scientific temper among masses through its sky shows on astronomy and science. Allahabad High Court
Allahabad High Court, officially known as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, is the high court based in the city of Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, that has jurisdiction over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 17 March 1866, making it one of the oldest high courts to be established in India.
