Pranay Kumar Verma
Pranay Kumar Verma is the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. He is the former Ambassador of India to Vietnam. Early life Verma did his bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering. He briefly worked at Tata Steel. He did his master's degree at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in Chinese language. Career Verma joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1994. On 25 July 2019, Verma was appointed the Ambassador of India to Vietnam. He was the previous Director General (DG) of the East Asia Division at the Ministry of External Affairs. Verma was appointed High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh on 29 July 2022. He replaced Vikram Doraiswami. Vikram Kumar Doraiswami is an Indian diplomat of Indian Foreign Service who is currently serving as High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom. Prior to this appointment, he was High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh and as an Indian Ambassador to Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan. Early life and education Doraiswami was born to a Tamil military family. His father was an Indian Air Force officer who fought in the Bangladesh Liberation war, a country to which Doraiswami eventually became High Commissioner. He studied in schools all over India before eventually acquiring a master's degree in history from the University of Delhi. Harish Parvathaneni is an Indian diplomat of Indian Foreign Service who is serving as Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations New York since 1 September 2024. A 1990 batch of Indian Foreign Service, he served as ambassador to Germany from 2021 until 2024 and to Vietnam from 2016 till 2019.
