''Portals'' is a studio album by English DJ and record producers Sub Focus and Wilkinson. It was released on 9 October 2020 by Virgin EMI Records. The album includes the singles "Illuminate", "Just Hold On", "Air I Breathe", "Turn the Lights Off" and "Freedom". Background Talking about the collaboration and releasing an album together, Sub Focus and Wilkinson said, "We first linked up to make a track called 'Take It Up' in 2018 and we were really encouraged by the response. We headlined a big festival in the UK together and really saw the potential of us extending the partnership ..we just didn't feel like anything that ambitious in terms of albums was being made in drum 'n' bass at the time and that became our mission for this record." Sub Focus
Nicolaas Douwma (born 13 April 1982), better known by his stage name Sub Focus, is an English DJ, music producer, songwriter and sound engineer. He has been releasing records since 2003. On 12 October 2009, he released his self-titled debut album. He released his second album, ''Torus'', on 30 September 2013. Douwma's album in collaboration with Wilkinson titled '' Portals'' was released on 9 October 2020 through Casablanca Records. His fourth album, '' Evolve'', was released on 12 May 2023. Tom Havelock is a British singer-songwriter and lead singer of the band Prep. He is also sometimes known by his stage name Tom Cane. Vula Malinga (born May 15, 1980) is an American-born British singer. Career Born in the United States to South African parents, she was raised in Hackney, London.
