Popular Front For Recovery
The Popular Front for Recovery (; FPR) is a militia from Chad. It destabilized northern Central African Republic from 2008 to 2012. The leader of the FPR was General Abdel Kader Baba-Laddé. History The FPR has signed ceasefires on several occasions, only to return to fighting soon after, in a cycle that is typical of conflicts in the region. Central African Republic Bush War
The Central African Bush War was a civil war in the Central African Republic which lasted from 2004 to 2007 between Union of Democratic Forces for Unity (UFDR) rebels and government forces. The rebellion began after François Bozizé seized the nation's presidency in 2003. Actual fighting began in 2004. Around 10,000 people were displaced because of the civil unrest. The rebellion consisted of multiple rebel groups, several of which were of very small size and founded only towards the end of the conflict. Ouham
Ouham is one of the 20 prefectures of the Central African Republic. Its capital is Bossangoa. The prefecture covers an area of 20,240 km² and, according to official estimates, its population was 329,645 inhabitants in 2024. At the time of the country's last official census, in 2003, the population was 369,220 inhabitants in an area of 50,250 km². These are data from before December 2020, when part of the territory was dismembered to create the Ouham-Fafa prefecture. Bang, Central African Republic
Bang is a village located near the Cameroon–Central African Republic border in Lim-Pendé Prefecture, Central African Republic. The village holds economic importance for the government since it generates customs revenue. History RJ captured Bang from Séléka on 10 February 2014. At the end of February, a fire incident occurred in Bang. It razed 520 houses, leading the villagers to flee the village. They only returned to Bang in March 2014. Bang was liberated by MISCA on 1 July 2014. Together with Ngaoundaye, RJ rebels encircled Bang on 15 June 2016. RJ attacked Bang on 4 April 2017. Bang fell to RJ's hand on 10 July 2017. Kabo
Kabo is a town in the northern Central African Republic, lying north west of Kaga Bandoro. It is a market town and the border post for Chad. History The northern nomads in the Central African Republic resented the central government and a rebel People's Army for the Restoration of the Republic and Democracy (PAPRD) was formed in the 1990s. Clashes between the rebels and the central government intensified, and many people from Kabo and the surrounding area fled as refugees to Chad. However, in January 2008, PAPRD and the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) agreed on a ceasefire for the Kabo area, allowing many of the refugees to return. The Front for Change and Concord in Chad (, ), or FACT, is a political and military organisation created by SG Mahamat Mahdi Ali in March 2016 in Tanua, in the north of Chad, with the goal of overthrowing the government of Chad. It is a splinter group of the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD). Ali declared his preparation for military operations against President Idriss Déby. The group was responsible for the death of Déby in April 2021, when he was killed while commanding troops on the frontline fighting the militants. Origins The group was founded by dissident Chadian army officers who had split from the UFDD. FACT was organized as a union of different rebel factions in March 2016, but it quickly suffered from internal disputes.
