Family Policy Council
A Family Policy Council (FPC) is one of several US state-level organizations affiliated with Focus on the Family (FotF), a nationwide conservative Christian organization. Family Policy Councils work for policies that FotF describes as "pro-family". These include opposition to same-sex marriage, LGBT adoption, and LGBT workplace protections, and support for abstinence-only sex education, increased legal restrictions on abortion and traditional Christian gender roles. FPCs also work to shape public opinion, organize political demonstrations, and cultivate future politicians. FPCs form a network or "alliance" through which FotF exerts influence on local and state-level policy. They are joined via the organization Family Policy Alliance, which writes conservative policy that the family policy councils lobby for at the state and local level. Middle East Policy Council
The Middle East Policy Council (MEPC) is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that produces analysis and commentary on issues impacting U.S. national interests in the Middle East. It was founded in 1981 under the stated mission to "expand public discussion and understanding of issues affecting U.S. policy in the Middle East." MEPC was originally named the American-Arab Affairs Council and was co-founded by journalist Richard Curtiss, who later founded the '' Washington Report on Middle East Affairs,'' and George Naifeh, who remained president of the MEPC until 1991. Naifeh was an American diplomat who represented the United States in diplomatic missions in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia over nearly three decades. Subsequent presidents include George McGovern (1991-1997) and Charles W. Freeman Jr. (1997-2009). Frank Anderson was the president of the MEPC from 2009 to April 2012. Monetary Policy Council
The Monetary Policy Council, Polish: Rada Polityki Pieniężnej (RPP), is a body of Narodowy Bank Polski, the central bank of Poland. Each year, in parallel with the budget project presented by the government, the MPC sets the bases of monetary policy. It sets the level of the NBP's interest rates, the rules and levels of bank's reserve obligations, sets an upper limit on obligations resulting from loans taken by the NBP in foreign banking and financial institutions. The MPC is made up of: Council Leader, who is the President of the NBP, and nine other members, selected in equal parts by the President of Poland, the Sejm and the Senate. Policy Council Of Guernsey
The Bailiwick of Guernsey operates a system of government by committees and consensus. The States of Deliberation is both parliament and executive, but it delegates some of its executive functions to policy-specific committees, which are known as States Departments, each of which is run by five political members, all of whom have equal voting power. Despite having explicitly rejected a proposal to adopt an executive/ministerial system of government in 2002, the head of each department was known as minister. They were, in effect, presidents or chairmen of their committees. The Policy Council consisted of the ministers/presidents of each of the ten departments plus the chief minister, who chaired Policy Council and spoke for the island externally in political matters.
