Poland At The 2024 Summer Olympics
Poland competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August 2024, celebrating the centenary of the team's debut in the same venue. Polish athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games from 1924 onwards, except for the 1984 Summer Olympics because of the Soviet boycott. The Polish national representation won a total of 10 medals (1 gold, 4 silver, 5 bronze) in 9 different sports and was ranked 42nd in the medal table, the lowest place in the country's history of participation in the Summer Olympics. 8 medals were won by female athletes while 2 medals were won by male athletes. The number of both gold and total medals was Poland's lowest since 1956. Notable achievements of Polish athletes include tennis player Iga Świątek's bronze medal in the women's singles event, which made her the first Pole in history to win an Olympic medal in tennis. Mateusz Bieniek (born 5 April 1994) is a Polish professional volleyball player. He is a member of the Poland national team, a participant in the Olympic Games (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020), and the 2018 World Champion. At the professional club level, he plays for PGE Skra Bełchatów. Career National team On 2 April 2015, he was called up to the Polish national team led by Stéphane Antiga. Canoeing At The 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's Slalom K-1
The women's K-1 slalom canoeing event at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place on 27 and 28 July 2024 at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne. Jessica Fox won the event. Canoeing at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run across two main disciplines: canoe slalom, to take place from 27 July to 5 August, and canoe sprint, from 6 to 10 August. Both canoe slalom and sprint events will be staged at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium of Île-de-France in Vaires-sur-Marne. Similar to the previous editions, the competition will feature sixteen events with several significant changes to the program lineup. Klaudia Zwolińska
Klaudia Zwolińska (born 18 December 1998) is a Polish slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2013. Zwolińska won two bronze medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, one in the K1 event (2023) and one in the K1 team event (2022). She also won 4 medals (3 silvers and 1 bronze) at the European Championships, including two individual silvers at the 2023 European Games in Kraków. Zwolińska also won the K1 event at the 2015 and 2016 Junior European Championships and the 2016 Junior World Championships. She became the first ever polish woman to win a Canoe Slalom World Cup, winning the opening round of the 2021 season. Wioletta Frankiewicz (née Janowska) (born 9 June 1977 in Piotrków Trybunalski) is a Polish runner. She competes in the 1500 metres, but she competes also in the 3000 metre steeplechase event, as she did in the 10th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki, Finland.
