Point X (skateboard Camp)
Point X was a skateboarding camp near Aguanga, California. It housed the first example of the modern "MegaRamp" style mega ramp, used to set height and distance records by Danny Way. The camp primarily featured a skate park and terrain but also included other outdoor activities. Skaters known to have skated at Point X include Way, Bob Burnquist, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, Tony Magnusson, Buster Halterman, and Owen Nieder. Aguanga, California
Aguanga (; Luiseño: ''Awáanga'', meaning "dog place") is a census-designated place located within the Inland Empire in Riverside County, California. It is located about east of Temecula and south-southeast of Hemet. Aguanga lies at an elevation of 1955 feet (596 m). As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 989. History The town gets its name from a former village of the Native village called awáanga, meaning 'dog place'. Butterfield Overland Mail established a station 1.7 miles to the west of the current post office in 1858. It was at first called Tejungo Station and was located 14 miles east of Temecula Station and 12 miles northwest of Oak Grove Stage Station. Mega Ramp
A mega ramp, or megaramp, is a large vert ramp structure, often used in skateboarding and freestyle BMX. First built in the 1990s and 2000s, megaramps are twice or more the size of earlier vert ramps. ''MegaRamp'' (styled with title caps and without a space) is the name of a mega ramp event organization and promotion company. Structure Contemporary structures are generally constructed of metal scaffold with a wood surface topped with Skatelite, and consist of two or three sections. The most common ramp setup, used as well by MegaRamp, is a sequence of three mega ramp sections; a roll-in, a gap jump, and a vert quarter pipe. Vert half-pipe mega ramps have been built, but they are uncommon. The roll-in section consists of a single or multiple roll-ins that drop from 12m (40') or higher up. Danny Way
Danny Way (born April 15, 1974) is an American professional Skateboarding, skateboarder. He was awarded Thrasher (magazine), ''Thrasher'' magazine's "Skater of the Year" award twice. He is known for extreme stunts, such as jumping into a skateboard ramp from a helicopter; that was featured on the cover of ''Transworld Skateboarding'' magazine. One of his more notable stunts was jumping the Great Wall of China on a skateboard via megaramp. Early life Way was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in San Diego, California. His childhood was marred by difficult circumstances. Bob Burnquist
Robert Dean Silva Burnquist (; born 10 October 1976) is a Brazilian-American professional skateboarder who competed for Brazil throughout his career. In 2010, he became the first skateboarder to land a " fakie 900" (900-degree reverse-natural rotation), making Burnquist the fifth person in history to successfully complete the 900 trick. Early life Burnquist was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to parents Dean Riley Burnquist and Dora Silva. His father is American of Swedish descent, while his mother is Brazilian from Minas Gerais. He has two sisters, Rebecca and Milena. He began his skateboarding training in his hometown of São Paulo at 11 years old, and turned professional at 14. Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins
Lyndsey "Lyn-Z" Adams Hawkins Pastrana (born September 21, 1989) is an American professional skateboarder. History and family Born in San Diego, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins was raised in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, and spent part of her childhood in Sayulita, Mexico, just outside Puerto Vallarta. An athletic child, Hawkins started surfing and skateboarding at age 6. She got into skateboarding when her brother Tyler bought her a membership at the Encinitas YMCA. She also played soccer, baseball, basketball, and gymnastics. Her legal name is Lyndsey, and Adams is her middle name. She started using the nickname Lyn-Z in the 4th grade. Tony Magnusson
Tony Magnusson (born February 23, 1963) is a Swedish semi-retired professional skateboarder and part-owner of Osiris Shoes. Magnusson gained significant fame throughout the 1980s by inventing several tricks and becoming one of the first professional skateboarders to start a rider-owned company. Youth Magnusson was born in the municipality of Tyresö, located in the city of Stockholm, Sweden. He started skateboarding at the age of 12 on a Newporter skateboard, when skateboarding was still considered "a fad".
