Pocong Vs Kuntilanak
''Pocong vs Kuntilanak'' is a 2008 horror film, directed and written by David Purnomo, and produced by Zainal Susanto. The main cast consists of Ahmad Zaki, Alia Rosa, and Aldiansyah Taher. Plot The film starts in the Dutch Colonial Era of Indonesia, where we are informed of Raden Soekotjo's feelings toward Nyi Soroh. As the film opens, Raden is going to Nyi's house to tell her of his feelings for her. She however, has already fallen in love and married a Dutch sea captain named Von Klingen. Angered by that prospect, Raden killed Nyi, which awakened her family's Kuntilanak spirit guardian. Heading for Von Klingen next, Raden was frightened when he found out that the Kuntilanak was after him. He tries to escape, but the Kuntilanak kills him. Before his death, Raden tells one of his relatives not to undo the rope around his pocong shroud, which would allow him to turn into a Pocong spirit. Kuntilanak
The Kuntilanak (Indonesian name), also called Pontianak (Malay name), is a mythological creature in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It is similar to Langsuir in other Southeast Asia regions. The Kuntilanak usually takes the form of a pregnant woman who died during childbirth. Alternatively, it is often described as a vengeful female spirit. Another form of the Kuntilanak refers to the ghost or white lady of Southeast Asian folklore. The Kuntilanak is often depicted as a long-haired woman dressed in white. Pocong
( ; from ) is a ghost that looks like a person wrapped in a funeral cloth. In Islamic funeral, a shroud called a "" (in Indonesian and Malay) is used to wrap the body of the dead person. The dead body is covered in white fabric tied over the head, under the feet, and on the neck, and the shroud is firmly tied at multiple junctures to maintain its position during the journey to the grave site. Upon placement into the grave, it is believed that the knots must be undone or the corpse will animate and be known as a Pocong. Pocong is also known in Malaysia as (wrapped-up ghost).
