"Please Forgive Me" is a song by British singer-songwriter David Gray from his fourth album, ''White Ladder'' (1998). The song was originally released on 22 November 1999, then re-issued on 16 October 2000. On its first release in November 1999, it reached 72 on the UK Singles Chart, while the 2000 re-issue peaked at No. 18. Background David Gray said in an interview that the inspiration of the song came from "nowhere." Paul Hartnoll of Orbital was commissioned to remix the song. The remix was pressed as 10-inch and 12-inch promos and was featured as the "record of the week" on Pete Tong's ''Essential Selection'', gaining massive airplay in Ibiza. David Peter Gray (born 13 June 1968) is a British singer-songwriter. He released his first album in 1993 and received worldwide attention after the release of '' White Ladder'' six years later. ''White Ladder'' was the first of three UK chart-toppers in six years for Gray; it became the fifth best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK and ranked as the tenth best-selling album of the 21st century in the United Kingdom in October 2019. Point Theatre
The Point Theatre (sometimes referred to as the Point Depot or simply as the Point) was a concert and events venue in Dublin, Ireland, that operated from 1988 to 2007, visited by in excess of 2 million people. It was located on the North Wall Quay of the River Liffey, amongst the Dublin Docklands. The Point was closed in the middle of 2007 for a major redevelopment and underwent a rebranding as The O2 in July 2008. Prior to the redevelopment, the seated capacity was 6,300; the rebranded O2 has a fully seated only capacity of 9,000. Iestyn Polson is an English music producer, engineer, songwriter, musician, and mixer best known for his work with David Gray, Patti Smith and David Bowie. Originally from London, Polson is currently based in New York City. Iestyn Polson grew up in London, England, and formed his first band at age 11. Polson learned to play multiple instruments throughout his childhood and later became interested in record production. Through engineering in studios in London, Polson was introduced to singer/songwriter David Gray who was compiling demos at the time.
