Pasquale Festa Campanile
Pasquale Festa Campanile (28 July 1927 – 25 February 1986) was an Italian screenwriter, film director and novelist, best known as a prominent exponent of the ''commedia all'italiana'' genre. Life and career Born at Melfi, in the province of Potenza, he moved to Rome at young age. He started as a writer and literary critic. ''La nonna Sabella'', one of his novels, was later adapted by Dino Risi into the movie of the same name, internationally known as ''Oh! Sabella'' (1957). He began his cinema career as a screenwriter with ''Faddija – La legge della vendetta'' (1949) by Roberto Bianchi Montero and later co-produced masterpieces of Italian cinema such as (1957) by Risi and ''Rocco and His Brothers'' (1960) and ''The Leopard (1963 film), The Leopard'' (1963) by Luchino Visconti. Franco Caracciolo
Franco Caracciolo (29 March 1920 – 28 September 1999) was an Italian conductor. Life He was born in Bari in 1920. He studied piano and composing at the Conservatoire of S. Pietro a Majella in Naples, and conducting at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Career He toured widely as a concert and opera conductor, was leading conductor of the Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples from 1949 to 1964 and became the permanent conductor of the Sinfonica di Milano Orchestra of Radiotelevisione Italiana. His repertory ranged from baroque to contemporary, including operas by Cherubini, Cimarosa, Haydn, Paisiello, and Scarlatti, and 20th century works by Darius Milhaud, Riccardo Malipiero, Nino Rota, and Gino Marinuzzi. Paola Borboni
Paola Borboni (1 January 1900 – 9 April 1995) was an Italian stage and film actress whose career spanned nearly eight decades of cinema. Early life Borboni was born on 1 January 1900 in Parma, Italy. Career Borboni made her stage debut in 1916, beginning to take minor film roles soon afterwards. She entered film in 1916 in the silent picture '' Jacobo Ortis'' directed by Giuseppe Sterni, and made over 80 film appearances between then and 1990. Appearing in several silent films before 1921 she was absent from cinema for some 14 years during which time she made numerous stage appearances. She gained notoriety in 1925 when she appeared topless in a stage performance of Carlo Veneziani's ''Alga Marina'' as a mermaid, exposing her breasts. She returned to the silver screen in 1936 in the Mario Mattoli film '' L'Uomo che sorride''.
