The Pittsburgh Panthers women's soccer team represent the University of Pittsburgh in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of NCAA Division I women's college soccer. History 1990s The Pittsburgh Panther's women's soccer team was founded in 1996 under head coach Roland Sturk and did not play in a conference in the program's first year. The Panthers had fewer losses than their inaugural season, finishing 3–12–3 overall and 2–8–1 in conference play. Randy Waldrum
Randy Marlon Waldrum (born September 25, 1956) is an American former professional soccer player, the current head coach of University of Pittsburgh Panthers women's soccer team and is the current head coach of the Nigeria women's national team on October 5, 2020. Coaching career He started his coaching career at Austin College in 1982, leading the men's soccer team to a 4–12–1 record. In 1988, he was the head men's soccer coach at Texas Wesleyan University, and compiled a 6–10 record. From 1989 to 1994, he coached both the men's and women's soccer teams at the University of Tulsa. He posted a 66–33–6 record with the men, and a 61–36–9 record with the women. In 1996, he founded the Baylor University women's soccer program, and went 46–14–3 from 1996 to 1998. Amaia Peña de las Heras (born 22 November 1998) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eibar, on loan from Athletic Club. Club career Born in Getxo and raised in Portugalete, Peña started her career at Pauldarrak. She joined Athletic Club in 2014, appearing for their reserve team for two seasons. The Panthers were led by head coach Randy Waldrum, in his fifth season. They played home games at Ambrose Urbanic Field. This was the team's 27th season playing organized women's college soccer and their 10th playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers finished the season 14–5–3 overall and 5–3–2 in ACC play to finish in sixth place. As the sixth seed in the ACC Tournament they tied Notre Dame 1–1, but lost the ensuing penalty shoot-out 5–4. 2022 Florida State Seminoles Women's Soccer Team
The 2022 Florida State Seminoles women's soccer team represented Florida State University during the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. It was the 28th season of the university fielding a program. The Seminoles were led by first-year head coach Brian Pensky, who was hired prior to the season to replace long time coach Mark Krikorian. Florida State finished the season 17–3–3 and 8–2–0 in ACC play to finish in a tie for first place. As the second seed in the ACC Tournament, they received a bye into the Semifinals where they hosted Notre Dame.
