Pitsea Infant
Pitsea is a town and former civil parish in the Borough of Basildon in south Essex, England. It comprises five sub-districts: Eversley, Northlands Park Neighbourhood (previously known as Felmores), Chalvedon, Pitsea Mount and Burnt Mills. It is part of the new town of Basildon. During the creation of the new town of Basildon in the late 1940s and early 1950s, "Pitsea", "Vange" and "Laindon" were considered as possible names for the new town. As Basildon village was central to the district, the town was eventually named "Basildon". Before the new town regeneration, Pitsea itself was made up of unbuilt plot lands and was regarded as underdeveloped and run down. The Cinema Museum in London holds extensive home movies from the Jefree family of Pitsea in the 50's. Basildon (district)
The Borough of Basildon is a local government district with borough status in Essex, England. It is named after its largest town, Basildon, where the council is based. The borough also includes the towns of Billericay and Wickford and surrounding rural areas. The borough borders the City of Chelmsford to the north, the Borough of Brentwood to the west, the Thurrock unitary authority area to the south, the Borough of Castle Point to the south-east, and Rochford District to the north-east. Billericay Urban District
Billericay ( ) is a town and civil parish in the Borough of Basildon in Essex, England. It lies within the London Basin, east of the City of London. The town was founded in the 13th century by the Abbot of West Ham, in his Manor of Great Burstead. During the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381, the Essex rebels were defeated in a battle with Richard II's forces in the Battle of Billericay. In 1620 four local people were on board the Mayflower as it sailed to Massachusetts, to establish the first English settlement in what would become the north of the United States. The town has long taken a pride in this connection, and many businesses and other organisations use the name ''Mayflower'', with the Town Council and other local organisations using it as their emblem. Eversley County Primary School
Eversley is a village and civil parish in the Hart district of Hampshire, England. The village is located around northeast of Basingstoke and around west of Yateley. The River Blackwater, and the border with Berkshire, form the northern boundary of the parish. Character Eversley means "Wild Boar Clearing" and the boar is the symbol of the village, as shown on the village sign. The parish contains a number of hamlets: Eversley Village (sometimes called Eversley Street), Eversley Centre, Eversley Cross, Lower Common and Up Green. The historical parish also included Bramshill, a modern civil parish largely covered by plantation forest, but also including the early 17th century Bramshill House. Basildon Academies
The Basildon Academies is a secondary school in Basildon, Essex, England. It was created by a merger of the former Barstable School and Chalvedon School in 2009. The Academies The Academies are situated across two sites: the Lower Academy (for 11 to 14-year-olds) and the Upper Academy (for 14 to 19-year-olds). There is a Sixth Form on the Upper Academy site. The Academies opened in 2009, under the sponsorship of The Stanton Lane Educational Trust. Both Academies are housed in modern buildings. Northlands Park, Basildon
Northlands Park is a park in Basildon, Essex, England. History of the park Basildon Northlands Park was created by Basildon Development Corporation (BDC) in the 1970s on the former Felmore Farm. During construction the land was landscaped with two lakes and hills. The lakes are three feet deep and cover an area of eight acres. They were made to catch floodwater from the nearby developments at Fryerns and Chalvedon. The Felmore Farm house became derelict and was demolished in the 1980s. Facilities The facilities include a cafe, walking, picnicking, fishing lakes, flower gardens, a children's playground, a skatepark and a multi-use sports area. Basildon Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 9am, the course is three laps of the park taking in the lakes. The park covers an area of around seventy acres. Semi-professional sports are sports in which athletes are not participating on a full-time basis, but still receive some payment. Semi-professionals are not amateur because they receive regular payment from their team, but generally at a considerably lower rate than a full-time professional athlete.
