''Pipes of Peace'' is the fourth solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Paul McCartney, released on 31 October 1983. As the follow-up to the popular '' Tug of War'', the album came close to matching the commercial success of its predecessor in Britain but peaked only at number 15 on America's ''Billboard'' Top LPs & Tape chart. While ''Pipes of Peace'' was the source of international hit singles such as "Say Say Say" (recorded with Michael Jackson) and the title track, the critical response to the album was less favourable than that afforded to ''Tug of War''. So Bad (Paul McCartney Song)
"So Bad" is a song written by Paul McCartney that was first released on his 1983 album ''Pipes of Peace''. It was also released as a single in the US, with the album's title track as the B-side and reached #23 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. In the UK, "So Bad" was released as the B-side of the "Pipes of Peace" single. A version of "So Bad" was later released on McCartney's 1984 album ''Give My Regards to Broad Street'' and it was used in the accompanying film. Writing and recording McCartney largely composed the song by improvising on the family piano with his children around him. ''Give My Regards to Broad Street'' is a 1984 British musical-drama film directed by Peter Webb. It stars Paul McCartney, Bryan Brown and Ringo Starr. The film covers a fictional day in the life of McCartney, who wrote the film for the screen, and McCartney, Starr and Linda McCartney all appear as themselves. Despite ''Give My Regards to Broad Street'' being unsuccessful, both financially and critically, Give My Regards to Broad Street, its soundtrack album sold well. The title is a take on George M. Brian Frederick Hines (29 October 1944 – 5 December 2023), known professionally as Denny Laine, was an English musician who co-founded two major rock bands: the Moody Blues and Wings. Laine played guitar in the Moody Blues from 1964 to 1966 and sang their hit cover version of " Go Now". Laine befriended Paul McCartney of the Beatles, who later asked him to join his band Wings. Laine was a constant member of Wings for their entire run from 1971 to 1981, playing guitar, bass and keyboards, and singing backing and lead vocals. Paul McCartney and Wings, often billed simply as Wings, was a British-American rock band formed in 1971 in London by former Beatle Paul McCartney; his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards; session drummer Denny Seiwell; and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine. Eric Michael Stewart (born 20 January 1945) is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer, best known as a founding member of the rock groups the Mindbenders with whom he played from 1963 to 1968, and likewise of 10cc from 1972 to 1995. 10cc are an English rock music, rock band formed in Stockport, southeast of Manchester, in 1972. The group initially consisted of four musicians, Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, who had written and recorded together since 1968. The four members contributed to songwriting, working together in various permutations. Godley and Creme’s songwriting has been said to be inspired by Art pop, art and cinema. The four members were multi-instrumentalists, singers, writers and producers.
