Pimpri-Chinchwad, also known as PCMC, is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city is about northwest of the historic city of Pune, at an altitude of above sea level. It is the fifth largest city in Maharashtra and the List of most populous cities in India, eighteenth largest city in India and the List of satellite cities by population, sixteenth largest satellite city in the world by population. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is the Municipal Corporations in India, civic body that governs Pimpri, Akurdi, Chinchwad, Nigdi, and the remainder of the northwestern city limits of Pune, India. It was established on 11 October 1982. It governs an area of 181 km2 with a population of 1.72 million. The executive power of the PCMC is vested in the Municipal Commissioner (India), Municipal Commissioner, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer appointed by the Government of Maharashtra. The position is held by Shekhar Singh (IAS) during the pandemic in late December 2020. The general body of the PCMC consists of 128 directly elected councilors, popularly known as "corporators", headed by a mayor. Chinchwad
Chinchwad is an upscale locality which is about northwest of the historic city of Pune situated on the banks of Pavna river. Mula River (India)
The Mula is a river in Pune, in Maharashtra state of India. It is dammed near the Western Ghats at the Mulshi Dam that forms the Mulshi Lake. Further downstream, in Pune city, it merges with the Pawana River on the left bank and Mutha River on the right bank to form the Mula-Mutha river, which later meets the Bhima River, which in turn is a tributary of Krishna River. Bhosari (IAST: Bhosarī), historically known as Bhojapur, is a suburb in the city of Pune, India. It is well known for its cultural and sports activities like Wrestling and Kabaddi. Hinjawadi (also incorrectly spelt Hinjewadi) is a suburb in Pune, India. It houses the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, a large tech and business park spread over 2,800 acres, which was built by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. The business park has offices of over 800 companies. Old Pune–Mumbai Highway
National Highway 48 (NH 48) is a major National Highway of India that starts at Delhi and terminates at Chennai traversing through seven states of India. It has a total length of 2807 km (1744 miles). NH 48 passes through the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
