Piernicola Pedicini (born 22 May 1969 in Benevento) is an Italian politician and member of the European Parliament since 2014. In December 2020, he joined the Greens/EFA group together with his colleagues Rosa D'Amato, Ignazio Corrao and Eleonora Evi. The August 24th Movement ( it, Movimento 24 Agosto, M24A) – officially called Territorial Equity Movement ( it, Movimento Equità Territoriale, MET) – is a regionalist political party in Italy, launched in August 2019. Its leader is the journalist Pino Aprile. History During the 2019 Italian government crisis, Pino Aprile called for a meeting on 24 August in the Grancia Park, Basilicata, near Brindisi Montagna, to counter Matteo Salvini's victory in the snap election he requested. More than 500 people from the southern regions of Italy attended the meeting and the foundation of the party, including senator Saverio De Bonis, criticizing the differentiated autonomy pursued by Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. Eleonora Evi (born 20 November 1983) is an Italian politician. Since July 2021, Evi is the spokesperson of Green Europe, sharing the leadership of the party with Angelo Bonelli. A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament. When the European Parliament (then known as the Common Assembly of the ECSC) first met in 1952, its members were directly appointed by the governments of member states from among those already sitting in their own national parliaments. Ignazio Corrao
Ignazio Corrao (born 14 January 1984) is an independent Italian politician and he is a member of the European Parliament since 2014. Corrao was born in Rome and grew up in Alcamo, Sicily. Education and career Corrao graduated in law from the University of Palermo, and qualified as a lawyer at the Italian Court of Appeal. In the 2014 European Parliament election he was elected to the European Parliament in the Italian Islands (European Parliament constituency), getting the highest number of preference votes among the Five Star Movement candidates. In June 2014, he was elected the first leader of the Five Star Movement's group in Parliament, becoming one of the youngest representatives to get this role in the European Union. The Five Star Movement ( it, Movimento 5 Stelle , M5S) is a political party in Italy. Its leader and president is Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy from 2018 until 2021. The M5S was founded on 4 October 2009 by Beppe Grillo, a comedian and blogger, and Gianroberto Casaleggio, a web strategist.
