''Picture of a Thousand Faces'' is the second album by the American band the Eric Gales Band, released in 1993. Gales was 18 when the album came out. The first single was "Paralyzed", which peaked at No. 31 on ''Billboard''s Mainstream Rock chart. The band supported the album with a North American tour. Production The album was recorded at Ardent Studios and Kiva Studios, in Memphis. It was produced primarily by Jim Gaines, who developed appendicitis during the recording sessions. The band's label, Elektra, hired Terry Thomas to help Gales achieve a poppier sound on some of the tracks. Eric's brother, Eugene, moved from bass to guitar, so that the band could have a fuller sound. Some songs were influenced by the Gales brothers' Christian faith, although Eugene did not consider the music to be Christian rock. "Angel of the Night" is a ballad. The Eric Gales Band
Eric Gales (born October 29, 1974), also known as Raw Dawg, is an American blues rock guitarist, originally hailed as a child prodigy. Gales has recorded 19 albums for major record labels and has done session and tribute work. He has also contributed vocals on several records by the Memphis rap groups Prophet Posse and Three 6 Mafia under the names Lil E and Mack E. Career Gales picked up the guitar at age four. His older siblings, Eugene and Manuel (Little Jimmy King), taught him songs and licks when he was young, in the style of Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, B.B. King and others. In 1985, the young Gales began to play at blues competitions with his brother Eugene backing him on bass. Badlands (band)
Badlands was an American heavy metal band founded by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee, former Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen (vocals) and Eric Singer (drums), as well as former Surgical Steel bass player Greg Chaisson. After the first Badlands album, Singer was replaced by Jeff Martin. Compared to the sound of the members' former bands, the sound of Badlands was more in a Led Zeppelin-influenced blues/hard rock vein. The group lasted from 1988 to 1993 and released three albums. ''Badlands'' (1989) and ''Voodoo Highway'' (1991) were released before Gillen left and was briefly replaced by singer John West. "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. The song closes side one of their 1969 album ''Abbey Road'' and features Billy Preston playing the organ. It was the first song recorded for the ''Abbey Road'' album but one of the last songs to be finished; the band gathered in the studio to mix the song on 20 August 1969, marking the final time that all four Beatles were together in the studio. Composition Lennon wrote the song about his love for Yoko Ono. It begins in time, with an arpeggio guitar theme in D minor, progressing through E7(9) and B7 before cadencing on an A augmented chord.
