Pickling is the process of food preservation, preserving or extending the shelf life of food by either Anaerobic organism, anaerobic fermentation (food), fermentation in brine or immersion in vinegar. Dethklok is a fictional melodic death metal band featured in the Adult Swim animated television series ''Metalocalypse'', known for its satirical or parodic lyrical themes. The first official Dethklok album was released on September 25, 2007, entitled ''The Dethalbum''. The album debuted at number 21 on ''Billboard'' magazine's Top 200 list. In baseball, a rundown, informally known as a pickle, the Hotbox (baseball), hotbox, or goose chase is a situation that occurs when the baserunner is stranded between two bases, also known as no-man's land, and is in jeopardy of being tag out, tagged out. When the baserunner attempts to advance to the next base, he is cut off by the defensive player who has a Live ball (baseball), live ball, and attempts to return to his previous base before being tagged out. Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two or four players use a smooth-faced paddle to hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball over a net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits a rule infraction. Pickleball is played indoors and outdoors. It was invented in 1965 as a children's backyard game in the United States, on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. In 2021, pickleball was named the official state sport of Washington. Pickles Reef
Pickles Reef is a small coral reef located within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. It lies to the southeast of Key Largo, to the south the Key Largo Existing Management Area and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Unlike many reefs within the Sanctuary, this reef is not within a Sanctuary Preservation Area (SPA). The reef gets its name from the Pickle Barrel wreck. Another small reef called Snapper Ledge is nearby. Shipwreck Various types of debris are scattered across the reef, including a number of barrel-shaped concrete objects. Local legend was that the concrete objects had been barrels of concrete on a ship or barge that had wrecked on the reef during the Civil War, but an analysis performed in 2008 showed that the concrete was a type of Portland cement produced between 1890 and 1923.
