"Piccola e fragile" (, transl. "Tiny and fragile") is a 1974 song composed by Enrico Riccardi (music) and Luigi Albertelli (lyrics) and performed by Drupi. Background Drupi's major hit, the single topped the Italian hit parade in the 1974 summer, and its success revamped in 1989, when a new version of the song was used as opening theme of the telenovela ''Topacio''. Giampiero Anelli (born 10 August 1947), best known as Drupi, is an Italian rock singer, best known for the songs "Vado via", "Piccola e fragile", "Sereno è" and "Due". Background Born in Pavia, Drupi, a former plumber whose hobby was fishing, started his career as lead singer of the band Le Calamite ("The Magnets"). Having been noticed by songwriters Luigi Albertelli and Enrico Riccardi, he entered the 1973 Sanremo Music Festival competition with the song "Vado via". The song ended in last place but achieved significant international success and launched his solo career. "Vado via", recorded on A & M Records, reached number 17 in the UK chart in January 1974 (remaining one of the very few songs not sung in English to enter the UK charts). Gerhard Narholz (born June 9, 1937) is an Austrian- American composer, arranger and conductor, dedicated to easy listening and film score music. Between 1958 and 1965 he wrote pop songs for artists such as Petula Clark, Heidi Brühl, Bill Ramsey and film scores for various German feature films and TV series. He also produced various instrumental pop albums for Polydor Germany and Tokyo (under his pseudonym Otto Sieben). In 1965, Narholz founded the Sonoton Recorded Music Library.
