Phillip Meilinger
Phillip S. Meilinger (born in 1948) is a retired colonel of the USAF as well as a historian and analyst. He is a member of the Academic Advisory Panel of the Royal Air Force Centre for Air Power Studies. Before his retirement he was Dean of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies (SAAS) at the USAF's Air University in Montgomery, Alabama. The Pentagon is the headquarters building of the United States Department of Defense. It was constructed on an accelerated schedule during World War II. The Air Staff is one of the Department of the Air Force's two statutorily designated headquarters staffs: the other staff is the ''Office of the Secretary of the Air Force'', also known as the ''Secretariat''. The Air Staff is headed by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (currently General Charles Q. Brown Jr.). The Royal Air Force Centre for Air Power Studies (RAF CAPS) is a Royal Air Force sponsored think tank which engages in the study of air power.
